What's better than going out for pizza on a Friday night? Staying home for pizza on a Friday night! Preheat the oven, grab your favorite toppings, and prepare your taste buds for this mouth-watering treat.
Homemade Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- About 2-1/2 cups flour
Directions
- Make sure oven racks are in the lowest positions possible. Preheat oven to 500 degrees.
- Put the yeast and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add the warm water and stir until the yeast dissolves. Stir in oil, salt, and 2-1/2 cups flour.
- When the dough becomes too stiff to stir, flour your hands and a work surface. Knead for 8-10 minutes, adding a little flour to keep dough from sticking. When done kneading, the dough should feel soft and smooth and no longer sticky.
- Dust the dough with flour and put it on a plate. Cover with a towel and let it rise until you are ready to use it. (Use dough within 30 minutes.)
- Grease a standard-sized cookie sheet or dust with cornmeal. Use your hands to spread dough over the entire pan. Some chefs prefer to use a rolling pin for this step.
- Pinch a little raised rim around the edges of the pizza. Decorate with sauce, cheese, and your favorite toppings.
- Bake for 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and crust is lightly browned.
- Enjoy!

With the weather weve been having lately for spring, staying inside and making pizza would be so much better.I can't wait to try the recipe.
Cant wait to make it!
We make homemade pizza all the time! It's so fun; a lot more enjoyable than just ordering it, and just as good!
I make pizza very similar to this! I'm italian, so I have to know how to make it, right? Haha I could actually make some right now....lol
We love to make homemade pizza, the kids like to poke holes in the dough so there's no air bubbles and help put the toppings on. We like to put browned italian sausage under the cheese along with fresh chopped/boiled tomatoes out of our garden.
